$270 billion Australian Navy expansion
Challenge
Manson Anchors, the sister company Bowmaster, were approached by Luerssen’s defence team regarding the $270 billion Australian Navy expansion. The goals of the investment were to modernise Australia’s defence capabilities and maintain the country’s security.
The Navy expansion included 12 new 85m Off-shore Patrol Vessels. Manson Anchors was asked to supply anchors and chain cables for the project.
Manson Anchors and Bowmaster had worked with Luerssen on many projects and a trusted relationship existed.
Solution
The Manson Anchor’s design engineering team worked with the Luerssen engineering team to ensure the Manson Ultimus Anchor fit the design of the vessel.
The team worked closely with Luerssen throughout the supply process. The anchors were each fabricated in galvanized steel and weigh 1305kg.
