Lloyd’s Register Approval is important!
Challenge
The Manson Anchors team were approached by Delta Marine Industries after challenges gaining Lloyd’s Register Approval for their existing anchors. The anchor pockets had already been built but the yacht builder could not get anyone to build approved anchors to fit the pockets.
Solution
Delta Yachts approached many anchor suppliers around the world with the existing anchor designs but no one could make the adjustments necessary for the anchors to gain the Lloyd’s approvals, except Manson Anchors.
Manson Anchors design engineers worked closely with Delta Marine to ensure the customized Kedge Anchor would work seamlessly with the existing anchor pocket and deployment system.
Manson’s prior experience in custom anchors gave them the knowledge to provide a working solution. A one-off design was submitted to LR for special design approval.
Manson then fabricated the two customized 855kg Kedge Anchors and sent them to the United States for installation.
Manson saved the day with anchors delivered on time and to budget. This solution saved Delta Marine from having to build an entirely new anchor pocket.
Since this project, Manson has formed a strong relationship with Delta Marine Industries. Manson have provided all anchors for Delta Yachts since the M/Y Laurel project.
