Ron Holland’s first motor yacht
Ron Holland is a legend in naval design and one of the most highly regarded designers in the industry. Manson Anchors established a strong relationship with the New Zealand Naval Architect during the build of S/Y Mirabella V.
Ron worked closely with the Manson Anchors team on the supply of Manson Anchors for S/Y Mirabella V. So, when it came time for Ron to design and build his first Motor Yacht project, M/Y Marco Polo, he had no hesitation in returning to the trusted Manson Anchors team.
Ron was adamant M/Y Marco Polo should feature Manson Ray Anchors, he had experienced their HHP (High-holding power) first-hand and knew it was the right choice.
Ron and the Hong Kong based shipyard, Cheoy Lee Shipyard, asked the Manson Anchors team to design and fabricate two Lloyd’s Approved, Stainless Steel Ray Anchors for the project.
The Manson Ray Anchors were designed and fabricated in Auckland, New Zealand by the Manson Anchors team and were approved by Lloyd’s Register to High Holding Power (HHP).
Two 316L Stainless Steel Ray Anchors (300kg & 400kg) were designed as a dual stem system, allowing the anchors to hug the bow nicely.
After this project, Manson Anchors were asked to build another set of Ray Anchors for the second yacht in the Marco Polo series, M/Y Mazu. These anchors were the same as M/Y Marco Polo but in galvanised steel.
